Description: "Bee-yond Fascination: A Field Trip to Learn About Beekeeping" Date: 11 April 2025 Location: Bhakhara range (B-Block) Grade: 11 Grade 11 students had the opportunity to visit a Bee Farm for an educational trip. The trip was aimed at enhancing understanding of Apiculture; its importance in agriculture and the environment. The trip was both informative and enjoyable, giving students a practical insight into the life cycle of bees and the process of honey production. Upon arrival, the students were welcomed by the farm staff and given protective gear for safety. A guided tour was conducted where students observed various types of beehives and the different species of bees. The guide explained the role of each bee in the hive – queen, drones, and worker bees while demonstrating the process of honey extraction and processing. Students also learned about the ecological role of bees in pollination, growth of crops and maintenance of biodiversity. They also saw the tools used in bee farming such as smokers, hive tools, and extractors. The trip concluded with an interactive Q&A session where students cleared their doubts and shared their observations. Some students even got the chance to taste fresh honey, which was a delightful experience. The trip helped students appreciate the hard work and scientific knowledge behind bee farming. It encouraged students to consider sustainable practices in Agriculture and Bee Conservation.
