Wildlife Week Celebration at Whitehall School,
Lamachaur
Whitehall Lamachaur,
celebrated Wildlife Week with great enthusiasm and a strong message of
environmental awareness and wildlife conservation. The programme aimed to
sensitise students towards the importance of biodiversity and the need to
coexist responsibly with nature.
The event was graced by
Mr. Rautela, Range Officer, Bhakra Range, and other esteemed members of the
Uttarakhand Forest Department, along with Mrs. Soni, Sub-Coordinator, WWF,
representatives of the Gramini Foundation, Ms. Shikha Pandey, Mr. Khulbe, and
Mr. Pradeep Pandey, an avid Himalayan trekker, photographer and nature
enthusiast. Mr. Anant Erickson (Director), also shared his valuable insights
and passion for nature and wildlife.
The programme featured
an evocative poetry presentation by students, followed by the felicitation of
winners of the Indian Wildlife Painting Competition conducted with the
encouragement of the Uttarakhand Forest Department. Zunera Atiq (Class VIII)
secured the First Position, Soumya Bora (Class VIII) the Second Position, Varun
Kumar Tamta (Class VI-A) the Third Position, while Chetan Joshi (Class VIII-A)
received a Consolation Prize.
The celebration
concluded with a powerful reminder that protecting wildlife today is our
responsibility towards future generations. The programme was an enriching blend
of awareness, creativity and appreciation for the natural world.
