An educational trip was
organized for all Grade 6 students to the Corbett Interpretation Centre,
located at Dhangadi Gate in Ramnagar. The students, accompanied by their class teachers
and checkers, boarded the bus in the morning with great excitement.
The
journey began on a joyful note with students engaging
in fun games and activities on the bus. The cheerful atmosphere set the tone
for the day ahead. Upon arrival, the students enjoyed their lunch before diving
into the educational part of the trip.
We were warmly welcomed and introduced to Mr. Deepankar Khulbe, a naturalist, by our esteemed
Director, Mr. Anant Erickson.
Mr. Khulbe guided us through the Corbett Interpretation Centre, where students
explored various ecological zones including grasslands, woodlands, and wetlands.
One of the highlights was the “Feel
the Music” zone, where students listened to realistic night- time sounds of
animals in the forest, giving them a deeper understanding of jungle life. This was followed by the immersive
“Feel the Jungle”
experience, where the sounds of different birds
could be heard by pressing buttons—an interactive and engaging way to learn
about the wildlife.
The visit continued with a theatre
session that provided detailed information about Jim Corbett and the Corbett
Reserve area. Students also got the rare opportunity to see preserved animal
foetuses and learn about the life cycles, habitats, and conservation efforts
for various species.
After the enriching experience, the
students boarded the bus and were safely transported back to the school.
Conclusion:
Overall, the trip was a great
success. It not only provided students with an enjoyable outing but also
enriched their knowledge about wildlife, ecology, and conservation in an
interactive and memorable manner.
