COMPETITION
The Grade 6 Inter-House Poetry
Competition took place on November 6th, at Whitehall School, Lamachaur
showcasing the literary talents of young students across sections A, B, and C.
Each section had four participants, totaling twelve students, who passionately
recited selected poems by the renowned Indian poet Sarojini Naidu popularly
known as the "Nightingale of India". Sarojini Naidu’s poems, with
themes of nature, love, and patriotism, resonated deeply with the audience and
allowed the students to explore the beauty and depth of her work.
The competition was judged by our
respected Principal ma'am, who evaluated participants on criteria such as voice
modulation, clarity, expression, and connection to the poem’s emotions.
The winners were announced the following
day. Where first position was secured by: Samriddh Pathak from Lion House,
second position was shared by 2 participants: Mahima Joshi from Eagle House and
Jahnvi Bisht from Falcon House, for the third position we had Utkarsh Mehra
from Falcon House.
These winners were also given the
special honor of performing again at the Uttarakhand Foundation Day
celebrations, where they shared Naidu’s poetic legacy with a wider audience.
This event not only celebrated the
poetic prowess of Sarojini Naidu but also encouraged young students to
appreciate the richness of Indian literature and find confidence in public
speaking.
