Poetry Recitation Competition
Description: The Grade 6 Inter-House Poetry Competition took place on November 6th, at Whitehall School, Lamachaur showcasing the literary talents of young students across sections A, B, and C. Each section had four participants, totaling twelve students, who passionately recited selected poems by the renowned Indian poet Sarojini Naidu popularly known as the "Nightingale of India". Sarojini Naidu’s poems, with themes of nature, love, and patriotism, resonated deeply with the audience and allowed the students to explore the beauty and depth of her work. The competition was judged by our respected Principal ma'am, who evaluated participants on criteria such as voice modulation, clarity, expression, and connection to the poem’s emotions. The winners were announced the following day. Where first position was secured by: Samriddh Pathak from Lion House, second position was shared by 2 participants: Mahima Joshi from Eagle House and Jahnvi Bisht from Falcon House, for the third position we had Utkarsh Mehra from Falcon House. These winners were also given the special honor of performing again at the Uttarakhand Foundation Day celebrations, where they shared Naidu’s poetic legacy with a wider audience. This event not only celebrated the poetic prowess of Sarojini Naidu but also encouraged young students to appreciate the richness of Indian literature and find confidence in public speaking.
