Earth Day
The
Earth Day 2026 programme was successfully conducted at The Whitehall School,
organized by The Gramini Foundation for the students of Classes VII to IX. The
theme for the event, “Our Power, Our Planet,” focused on encouraging students
to take responsibility for protecting the environment.
The
programme began at 9:00 a.m with an introduction and icebreaker session.
Students were warmly welcomed, and an engaging discussion was held on the
importance of caring for the Earth and individual responsibilities toward the
environment.
This
was followed by an awareness presentation session, where students learned about
environmental issues, the significance of Earth Day, and how they can
contribute positively to the planet.
An
interactive “Power Mapping Game” was then conducted, where students
participated in group activities to identify actions they can take at individual,
school, and community levels to protect the environment. This activity was both
engaging and thought-provoking.
After
the activity, a reflection and discussion session was held. Students shared
their ideas and learnings, reinforcing key environmental messages and gaining
deeper insights into sustainable practices.
The
programme continued with an appreciation segment, where students were
acknowledged for their active participation and creative ideas.
The
event concluded with a closing session that included a student pledge to
protect the environment, a vote of thanks, and the presentation of memento.
Overall,
the programme was informative, interactive, and inspiring. It successfully
motivated students to become responsible citizens and take meaningful steps
towards conserving the planet.
