EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO CORBETT INTERPRETATION CENTRE, RAMNAGAR (DHANGADI GATE)

Date: 20 April 2026

An educational excursion was arranged for the students of Grade 6 to the Corbett Interpretation Centre at Dhangadi Gate, Ramnagar. The trip aimed to provide students with practical exposure to wildlife conservation and environmental awareness. Accompanied by their teachers, the students set off early in the morning, filled with enthusiasm and curiosity.

The journey itself was lively, with students participating in group activities and light-hearted games, creating an energetic atmosphere throughout the bus ride. Upon reaching the destination, the students settled down for lunch before beginning their exploration of the centre.

The group was warmly received and guided by a knowledgeable naturalist, who introduced them to the rich biodiversity of the Corbett region. Students explored different sections representing grasslands, forests, and wetlands, gaining insight into the diverse ecosystems and their significance.

One of the most engaging segments was the interactive audio zone, where students experienced the sounds of nocturnal animals and various bird calls. This hands-on learning approach helped them connect more deeply with nature. The visit also included an informative theatre presentation highlighting the life and contributions of Jim Corbett, along with details about the reserve and its conservation efforts.

Students were particularly fascinated by the preserved specimens and exhibits, which provided valuable knowledge about animal life cycles, habitats, and the importance of protecting endangered species.

After a day full of learning and exploration, the students began their return journey to school, carrying with them new knowledge and memorable experiences.

Conclusion:

The visit proved to be highly informative and enjoyable. It successfully combined education with experience, encouraging students to develop a sense of responsibility towards nature and wildlife conservation.
